Curly Label Birthday Card

The other day I created this card using the curly label punch.  I got the idea from Mary Fish who is a well-known Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

Happy Thanksgiving!

These little turkeys are going to add some festivities to my sister-in-law's table today.  I made them using the circle scallop, the Boho Blossom, the 1/2" circle, and the 1 3/8" circle punches.  The box was made using the petal card Sizzix die.

I hope you enjoy your day!

Day of Gratitude

Thanks to Diane, tonight I was able to have a class! (My house is still in turmoil!)

The first picture is a very simple 3-D "box" that I gave to Diane for hosting the class at her house. (It's not really a box, just sides!)  It was made with a piece of 3" x 8 1/2" card stock scored at 2, 4, 6, and 8 inches.  I punched one of the sides with the Extra-Large Decorative Label punch.  On a piece of 2 7/8" x 1 7/8" card stock I stamped the image and the saying.  It was so easy and would be a great favor!

Thank You "Box"

The first card that we made was a Fall / Thanksgiving card.  The design was created by stamping the flower stamp four times on Very Vanilla card stock.  The center was created using the medallion stamp and punched out with the Boho Blossoms punch.  The Extra-Large Decorative Label punch was used for the saying, and the final touch was adding the pearl jewels.

A Great Gift!

Next, we made a bag, a tag, and a matching candle and boy did we punch!

The bag was created using the following punches:  1 1/4" circle, 1 3/8" circle, 1 3/4" circle, 2 1/2" circle, 1 3/4" scallop circle, 2 3/8" scallop circle, snowflake, and the scallop edge border.

The snowman from the stamp set Jolly Old Saint Nick was stamped twice on Whisper White card stock and once on tissue paper. We used Whisper White, Real Red, and Marina Mist card stock and ink.

The tag base was created using the Two Tags Sizzix die.

The snowman in the center of the bag was covered with a Sweet Treat cup that was filled with some silver glass glitter.  Rhinestone jewels were added to give it a little bling!

A Simple Christmas Card

Finally, we finished the night making this simple but elegant Christmas card!

The Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder was used to create the background.  The ornament from *Tags til Christmas was stamped in Real Red and then punched with the *ornament punch.  The "Merry Christmas" saying is from the Christmas Greeting stamp set.  Adding Real Red ribbon and rhinestone jewels gave it the final touch!

*Now through December 16th you can order the Tags til Christmas bundle and get  a 20% discount.  There are two Tags til Christmas bundles.  The first bundle includes the Tags til Christmas stamp set and the Decorative Label punch.  The second bundle includes the Tags til Christmas stamp set and the ornament punch.  Each bundle costs $38.32 for wood-mount stamps and $31.92 for clear-mount stamps.  Click on the link for more details.

My Friend's Awesome Halloween Card

This is my friend, Holly's, Halloween card.  She used a combination of punches to create Frankenstein.  She used the curly label punch for the face and the hair, the modern label punch for the arms, and the owl punch for the ears (the owl's feet) and the eyes.  Isn't it awesome?!!

Brian's Birthday

Can you guess how old Brian is from looking at the card?

Cards from a September Technique Class

The cards from this class used several techniques.  I will be adding the directions and techniques later this week. (I was so busy stamping this weekend, I didn't get enough time to work on my blog, but at least I posted the cards!)

Simply Said

One of the techniques that we did at a recent class was the faux shaving cream technique.  It is so much easier than using shaving cream and gives a stamped image a different look.  The easiest way to get the swirled look on the stamped image is to do the following:

  1. Ink up the stamp.  For this card I used the flower from Simply Said inked with Perfect Plum stamped off once.
  2. Ink part of a wheel with a different color.  You don't need to ink the entire wheel, only a small area.  For this card I used Elegant Eggplant.
  3. Swirl the wheel around the ink on the stamp.
  4. Stamp and wallah!

Guest Designer

My mom, who is such a special person, created this card.  (She used an idea that she saw on the demonstrator website and modified it.)  Her original card was done using Poppy Parade for the flower and background.  I made it using Blushing Bride because I just love that color!  You could make the card using so many different colors.  To get the petals, all you have to do is use the 1 1/4" square punch and corner round two opposite corners.  It's that simple!

Elegant Elements of Style

I might have to say that I think this is, so far, my all time favorite card!  I got the inspiration for this card from Peggy-Sue Stucky a recent Sparkle and Bling Challenge winner at Stampin' Up!

The card takes some time to make, but it is sooo worth it!  The colors for this card are Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla.  I used the Log Cabin Smooch Spritz to add some bling, and the pleated Very Vanilla satin ribbon adds a nice touch.

Adding a Watermark

I just learned how to add a watermark to my cards so I have to post something! I don't have time to create something new, so I looked through my creations and found two cards that are great for children's birthdays. I picked these cards because they are made using mostly current colors. (Gable Green was used to paint the stripes on the Bashful Blue card; it can easily be replaced with Wild Wasabi.)

My New Blog

For those of you that have visited my Stampin' Up! blog I'm sure you noticed how slowly the pictures loaded.  I'm trying this new blog to see if it will be more user friendly.  Please let me know what you think!

August Newsletter

I hope you are enjoying your summer. Mine has been quite busy, especially with all of the construction going on at my house. It will be quite some time before my house is back to normal, but as long as you don't mind the bare walls (if I even have walls) I still plan on having classes while we are renovating. Click on my "Events" button to see a description of my next two classes that I am squeezing in before school begins. I'm also in the process of planning my September and October classes so if you have any requests, please let me know!

Also, don't forget about the great hostess promotion that is going on through August! Hostesses can earn an extra $25 in FREE merchandise! If you would like to plan a workshop for August so you can take advantage of this promotion, there is not a lot of time, so give me a call soon and we can set it up. Planning a workshop is easier than ever. Stampin' Up! has created a Hostess Portal that you can use to invite guests. You don't even need to send postcards!

New Catalog Class

In July the new 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog was released.  Customers who came to my New Catalog Class made four cards using new products and received a catalog and special bookmark that featured the In-Colors along with a list of the colors in the new color collections.
Bookmark
This card features the hostess set Because I Care and the In-Color Concord Crush.
The stamp set used for this card was Awash with Flowers which is a two-step stamp set.  It also features the In-Colors Blushing Bride and Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz cardstock, and Rich Razzleberry which was last year's In-Color that is returning in the Brights Collection.
This card features the new stamp set Baby Bundle.  Don't you love the eyelets on the wheels?
I appologize for the colors on some of the cards.  I have to work on a better lighting set-up when I take pictures!

Two-Step Owl Extra-Large Punch

One of my favorite new products in the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog is the Two-Step Owl Extra-Large punch.  I have been having a lot of fun creating not only cards, but also the header of my blog.  I used My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up! to create several of the pictures on this blog.

This is a very simple card using the Two-Step Owl Extra-Large punch and the Two-Step Bird Extra-Large for the leaves.

I love the eyelids on these In-Color owls!  This is a modified CASE from Crystal Lenssen.
